At least 353 people are dead and more than 1,300 others are missing, including 25 Canadians, according to the Nepal Tourism Board. The affected area is popular with hikers and is also a route used by those on pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in neighbouring Tibet, a sacred site for Hindus.
