Robert Stock can sleep well Monday night knowing he accomplished something against the Tampa Bay Rays that he had never done before in his MLB career: pitch into the sixth inning.
The rejuvenated Binghamton Rumble Ponies lineup post-Trade Deadline is doing some serious damage. The Mets’ Double-A affiliate has gone 20-7 in August, and Sunday’s 14-5 victory over Reading at FirstEnergy Stadium was just another example of the team’s top talent taking center stage.

The night’s goal was right on ad: A chance to “meet your next friend, date, wingman, or favorite gameday buddy.”
Expect to see that trend of added rest for phenoms Nolan McLean and Zac Thornton as well over the final month of the season. Green explained that the Mets prefer to give all three of those young starters five days between outings in September rather than four days.
